“The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice.” - MLK
Charles McGee dedicated his artistic career to promoting peace, harmony, and balance. He used black and white imagery to represent this desired vision of equality. We will look at the work of McGee to inspire our own collaborative large scale collage. This collage will become a permanent fixture at the Eli Whitney Museum and remind us of McGee’s hope for a better and more peaceful world. Each camper will create a section of the collage and make a smaller version to take home to spread this message of unity.
“I feel we need to come together as a people. I think that has been and will be my dedication as long as I live”— CHARLES MCGEE, 1988
