Marvin Glass designed Mr. Machine for Ideal Toy Company in 1960. Its wind-up motor powered clever and entertaining movements and a bell. The originals are collector's items. Construct an up-dated Mr. or Mrs. Machine with dual motor remote control and a third motor to run a pickup arm (plus lights and a buzzer.) Then put your Machine to work. Enter one or several of the problem solving competitions we've set up based on the student robot design challenges at MIT. Make tools and attachments. For example, your Machine might have to separate ping pong balls to isolate, capture, and return a gold one. You design the strategy – we'll help with the mechanics. Batteries included.
