Designs for The Bauhaus Project were developed by apprentices whose stipends were funded by the Arts Endowment of The CT DECD: Connecticut Office of the Arts.
After World War I, artists and architects in Germany pledged to employ design and the power of the Industrial Revolution to make simple, useful, affordable products for a better world. They called their school Bauhaus - the building place. They invented modern design.
What is modern design? Experiments in wood, weaving, corrugated paper, printing, plywood, fiber dying and aluminum will teach you simple, useful, direct and bold ways of making things. A new way of seeing the world = modern.
Remember this: when the world changes, design changes.
No sharp tools, a modest amount of mess and a little sawdust
